Do you want to have more contact with the local population during your holiday? Don't just watch, but actively participate yourself! This can be done by combining your trip with a workshop. See below the offer of NUACAS!
To be active during your stay in Tanzania, NUACAS has developed three-day workshops together with local entrepreneurs. This puts you in direct contact with the local population and you work together in the way they are used to. In addition, there is still enough time to relax and get to know the area better.
Under the guidance of Rosemary you will make pottery in the traditional way. Not with a turntable, but with local items that we would see as waste. Rosemary will teach you how to make pots and also what they were traditionally used for. At the end of the workshop you will have your own jar as a memento of this unique experience.
John Leonard is a local painter in the village. He will show you how they can make the most beautiful paintings here with the local paint. You participate in the whole process. From stretching a canvas to the end result. After three days you will have your own African painting as a souvenir of your visit to Tanzania.
Eating together is an important part of Tanzanian culture. Regina teaches you how to cook the dishes that are highly valued here. Together you buy the products on the market. To then prepare the dishes in a traditional way, i.e. cooking on charcoal. And as icing on the cake, eating together! Not only a special, but also a very tasty experience.
During the workshop you stay at NUACAS in a private or shared room of your choice. The rooms have their own shower and toilet. And meals are provided. Laundry can be done for a small fee. And there is WIFI available. The workshops are in total three days and all materials are provided. The price of a workshop is € 295,-.
We all know Africa from stories about nature and safaris. While these aspects of Africa are beautiful and worth visiting, there is another side. Come and join us in enjoying Africa from within; meet its people, culture, food and customs...
